Of course the author wants interesting characters with antecedent experiences that hudllas their actions. On a side note, Erica and Patrik’s daughter is only one yet seems to have the developmental abilities of a three-year-old. If the mystery was deeper and stronger, you could share the tidbits and the reader could struggle to figure out the mystery alongside the characters.

Interrupting Erica, inappropriate walks, acting like a big baby himself. I can’t go into too many details as it would be spoiler-ish but, yeah, douchebag. This is why I’m not a writer. I enjoyed this book so much that I was actually very depressed when it came to an end, but I’m planning to read it again and again because it has been a wonderful journey that I will never be tired of going through.
And with that, I’m done with this series.
Or maybe even infuriating. The crimes are intriguing and original and the characters are so realistic that you get sucked into the minutiae of their lives. Can’t believe such a person could ever be promoted to such a position. This just wasn’t a very good book.
What is the point of tracking down war criminals from times that are long past? After reading several books in this series, you start to get a feel for the “formula” the author uses for all her books.

This is where it actually got irritating. You get my drift. But many of the flaws in this book must be laid at the feet of the author. While the plot wasn’t at all bad imbrorables a who-done-it, the constant jumping around and lack of character development was imvorrables enough to make me give up before reaching the end. The retired teacher is found dead and now Detective Patrick Hedstrom, Erica’s husband is involved as he seeks to untangle the web of secrets of the group of childhood friends. It didn’t make sense to me – it seemed like she came to her discovery out of the blue.

I’m afraid if I leave I won’t return for a while and there are only a couple of books left in this series.
I don’t think I will be reading more by this author. I had read earlier books in this series and remembered enjoying them. She takes it to a retired historian for him to do some research on it. Time that quite frankly could have been given to the flatter of the important characters. It was not lazy stereotypical beautiful blonde with blue eyes kinda thing. However, a course in creative crime writing became the trigger to a drastic change of career.

In her previous books, I have enjoyed Lackberg’s combo of personal lives and mystery, but this book is way too focused on the family lives to satisfy my mystery fix.

One thin I can specifically point to is the beginning of a section or chapter without names, but simply “he opened the laptop” or “she continues reading,” so identifying which character you’re intended to follow is easily muddled.
Additionally, I found it kind of cheesy how several of the characters all cam I didn’t enjoy this book very much, although I camllla hearing the solution to the mystery, of course.
